Toothache Home Remedies

Natural Relief, Happy Smile!

Why does my tooth hurt?

Tooth pain can occur for many reasons, such as cavities, gum disease, or tooth sensitivity. It may also be caused by a cracked tooth, an infection, or teeth grinding. In some cases, impacted wisdom teeth or a loose filling could be the reason. Identifying the cause is crucial for effective treatment and avoiding further discomfort, so it’s important to consult with a dentist for proper diagnosis and care.

How to use home remedies to ease Toothache?

  • Saltwater rinse: Mix a tablespoon of salt in half a cup of warm water and rinse your mouth. It reduces swelling, kills bacteria, and temporarily relieves pain.

  • Garlic: Crush a garlic clove and apply it to the painful tooth. Its antibacterial properties help fight infection and ease discomfort.

  • Oregano leaves: Boil oregano leaves, let them cool, and use as a mouthwash.

  • Lemon juice: Dilute fresh lemon juice in water and rinse your mouth. It helps clean the area, reduce bacteria, and temporarily relieve pain (be cautious of acidity on sensitive teeth).

  • Cucumber: Place a cool cucumber slice on the painful tooth. The cooling effect can help numb the pain, while the natural antioxidants can soothe and reduce inflammation.

  • Ice pack: Apply an ice pack wrapped in cloth to your cheek near the painful tooth. The cold helps numb pain and reduce swelling.
