Home Remedies for Cracked Heels

Smooth Heels, Naturally.

Why Do I Have Cracked Heels?

Cracked heels usually happen when the skin on your feet becomes too dry or thick and loses its flexibility.

This can be caused by things like standing for long periods, wearing open-back shoes, walking barefoot, or not moisturizing enough. Weather changes and aging can also play a role. The pressure on dry, hard skin causes it to split, leading to those painful cracks.

The good news? With a little care and simple natural remedies, you can soften your heels and get them back to looking and feeling healthy!

How to use home remedies to treat Cracked Heels?

  • Shea Butter: A rich, natural moisturiser perfect for dry skin, especially cracked heels. Apply generously to clean feet, then cover with socks or fabric to lock in warmth and moisture overnight.

  • Baby Oil: Gently massage baby oil into your heels to soften the skin and keep it hydrated.

  • Coconut Oil: Known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties, coconut oil can be applied to rough, dry heels to moisturise, protect, and repair.

  • Soothing Foot Soak: Fill a tub with warm water and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Soak your feet for 20 minutes to soften the skin before gently exfoliating or moisturizing.

  • Honey: Mix a few tablespoons of honey into warm water and soak your feet for 15–20 minutes. It will help soften skin and promote healing.

  • Banana Mash: Mash a ripe banana and apply it like a foot mask for 15–20 minutes and wash. This will help moister the heels.
